The Catholic Bishop’s Conference of India has taken a bold step in the right direction by mandating the publication of the textbooks of theology for students to the priesthood in India. This will enable the students to get a good grasp of the faith of the Church and to function effectively and fruitfully in our situation with its concreteness and complexity. Members of the laity and the institutes of the religious and others interested in the study of the Christian doctrine will also benefit from these textbooks.
